Kieran is a challenging yet friendly opponent.
With his bleached hair and tall, thin build, Kieran moves through the room the same way he moves across a chessboard - with style. Socializing with friends, smiling, and settling comfortably in front of the pieces.
When he plays, Kieran is lightning fast. When asked what his playing style is like, he responds, “Cheeta, in time-controlled games I can be fast. I think fast.” In any given game, Kieran can calculate five different lines five moves deep before his opponent has finished thinking about their first. He’s like a bolt of lightning when computing the outcome of multiple trades.
Sticking with the animal theme, Kieran continues: “Turtle, more defensive style. I’m seldom aggressive.” Then, “An own, I see the board well and I can often see what my opponent is trying to do.”
With this combination of Cheeta, Turtle, and Owl, other players know Kieran as a force to be reckoned with. But the best part is his friendliness, he’s just as warm in conversation as he is ruthless when doubling you up on pawns.
When asked if there was anything else he’d like to share, he adds, “Chess is more about patterns than people realize, you get put in positions a few times and you learn to play those better.”
Whatever position Kieran leads you into, you’ll leave the board sharper for having played him and richer for having met him.
