What’s the most surprising or memorable interaction you’ve had at the club? “Going to Oregon Open. Car pooling with other members to tournaments.”
What’s a chess milestone you’re proud of, big or small? “When I placed 3rd at Nationals Open for my section in Las Vegas. When I was 14. I’m 19 now.
What does the future look like for you? “Right now, I am teaching privet chess lessons for an on-line tutoring company.” … ”I would love to make masters but school and spiritual commitments may delay that.”
What advise would you give to some one starting out in chess? “Play lots of games and learn one opening. Some people starting out think they need to learn lots of openings, they don’t.”
